© scotthockenbery.com 2011 As a firefighter/EMT with the Jefferson   Township Fire Department in West   Jefferson, I am extensively trained primarily   to put out hazardous fires that threaten   civilian populations and property, to rescue   people from car incidents, collapsed and   burning buildings and other such situations.   Also provide emergency medical care to the   residents and visitors of the area. Currently I am serving as a Combat Medic   with the Ohio Army National Guard out of  Columbus, Ohio.  As a  Combat Medic, I  have the unique  opportunity to help others,  especially when  their lives are in the most  danger. Combat  Medics have advanced  life-saving skills and  use them to help  trauma patients both in  peacetime and  during conflict. I have a proven record as a dedicated,  well-qualified  public servant with a passion  for helping others and  standing up for what  is right.  I undestand that the true leader  serves the peoples best interests, not their  own, and by doing so they will not always  be popular, and may not always impress,  but are willing to pay the price because true  leaders are motivated by loving concern  rather than a desire for personal  glory,
